Daniel R. Cote

LISBON FALLS – Daniel R. Cote, known affectionately to all as Dan, embarked on his final adventure on March 15, 2025, leaving a legacy of laughter. Born on June 14, 1950, in Lewiston, a son of the late Conrad and Nannette (Butler) Cote. He passed away with the same gusto for life in Lisbon Falls, with his wife by his side and his dedicated dog companion Mandi.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Brenda, his soulmate in both life and spontaneous road trips as well as his daughters, Michelle Cortinas and her husband Javier, Anne Barry and her husband Glen, whom he loved unconditionally. He also leaves behind his seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren along with his brother, Richard Cote and wife Lynn, and sisters, Nancy Hutchinson and husband Dale, Patricia Small and husband Sam, and Donna Bradeen and husband Joe, who will remember him as the sibling who could turn any family gathering into a comedy show with his quirky sense of humor.

A proud Lewiston High School graduate and holder of an associate degree from USM, Dan served his country in the United States Air Force before becoming the beloved Owner and Operator of Aqua-Max of Maine for 32 years. His interests were as eclectic as his humor, from owning antique cars to creating countless projects at home. He will be remembered for his generosity to anyone that needed it.

Described by those who knew him as adventurous, humorous and loving, Dan approached life much like his favorite celebrity, Robin Williams, who once said, “You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.” Dan not only kept his spark but fanned it into a flame that warmed everyone around him. His laughter echoes in the memories he leaves behind, a testament to a life well-lived and well-loved.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses of Maine Medical Center in Portland for their devoted and dedicated professionalism and care shown to Dan through numerous operations over the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Sabattus St., Lewiston on Friday March 21, 2025, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston.
