Carlton M. Hebert

AUBURN – Carlton M. Hebert, 77, a resident of Auburn, passed away on March 21, 2025. Born in Lewiston on May 1, 1947, he was the son of Paul and Rella Hebert. Carlton attended Auburn Schools, receiving his GED.

He joined the U.S. Army and served active duty from 1966 – 1969, during the Vietnam Conflict with one tour in Vietnam.

Carlton married the love of his life Claire on April 25, 1975 and together they had one daughter, Kelly.

He retired in 2012 after 38 years at Auburn-Lewiston Airport where he spent many years as the Senior Maintenance Director, along with many duties he ensured the grounds of the airport were safe and clear of snow. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years Claire; daughter Kelly Sutton and her husband Steve; three grandkids, Jacobi, Andrew, and Teagan; three sisters Mona, Linda and Tina and their families. He was predeceased by his parents; three sisters, Bea, Carlene and Nancy, a brother Carroll; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 1 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at The Fortin & Pinette Group 217 Turner St., Auburn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday April 2 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Auburn. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, Lewiston.
