ANDOVER – Carolyn G. Merrill, 77, died Wednesday March 26, 2025, at her residence in Andover.

Carolyn was born in Rumford on Dec. 9, 1947, the daughter of William K. and F. Grace (Roberts) Simmons, Jr. She worked at Andover Wood Products and was a member of the Snow Valley Sno- Goers in Andover and the Andover Congregational Church. She always enjoyed going to camp where she was a member of the First Roach Pond Association. Above all she loved supporting and cheering on her grandchildren at any school or sporting event, being the loudest fan in the stands.

Carolyn was married in Andover, Maine on June 30, 1964, to Richard Merrill, Sr., who survives of Andover. Other survivors include her sons, Richard, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Andover and Kevin and his fiancé Tammy Silva of Lyman, , a daughter Stephanie Sterling and husband Jeff of Rumford Point; a sister Jeannette Hutchins and husband Arthur of Andover and a brother Steve Simmons and wife Cindy of Andover, sister Barbara Simmons of Andover; grandchildren, Jeremy Sterling, Wilford Lacey, Nicholas Sterling and fiancé Kate Foss, Lauren Sterling and fiancé Dan Nicoll, Katherine Merrill, Taylor Merrill and companion Caleb Snell, Hanna and Kevin Merrill Jr.; two great grandchildren Norah Jeanne and Kaiden; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and brother William Simmons.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday March 31, 2025, at the Andover Congregational Church in Andover. Interment later in the spring will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Andover. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St Rumford, ME
