Roger S. Keene Sr.

TURNER – Roger S. Keene, Sr., 74, of Turner, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Andwell Hospice House in Auburn, with his loving family by his side. He was born May 23, 1950, in Livermore, the son of Lloyd S. Keene and Annie (Akers) Keene.

Roger attended school in Livermore. On Nov. 8, 1969, in Canton, he married Joanne Mason of Turner. Roger worked for H.E. Mcann and Town and Country as a salesman. He later worked delivering newspapers for 32 years for Sun Journal in Lewiston. He was a member of the Nezinscot Lodge #101 in Turner.

He enjoyed sitting out by his pool with a beer in hand, snowmobiling, spending time at camp with his wife riding back roads, auto racing (his love for auto racing came from early years of being a pit crew member), and most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Keene; his son, Roger “Butch” S. Keene, Jr., and his daughter, Amanda Charette and husband Robert, all of Turner; five grandchildren, Marissa (Guild) Mitchell and husband Nicholas, Nicholas Guild and wife Hailey, Brooke Keene, Brody Guild and wife Ashley, and Dawson Ryan; four great-grandchildren, Roy, Clayton, Mercedes, and Wyatt; his brothers, Robert Frost of Kansas, Brian Keene and wife Jane and Charles Keene and wife Barbara all of Livermore, sisters, Joanne Leighton of Jay, Donna Davis and husband David of Peru and Laurie Benjamin of Lewiston; and Aunt Hazel (Akers) Babbs of Livermore. He was predeceased by his parents; sister Vicki Hyde, brother Micheal Keene; and great-niece Dani Ranger. He was a cherished son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
