Roger E. Laplante
LEWISTON – Roger E. Laplante, 79, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully with his children by his side at CMMC in Lewiston on March 26, 2025. Roger was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, co-worker and friend to many.
He was born in Lewiston on April 21, 1945, to the late Emile Laplante and Rosa Charest Laliberte. Roger joined the army in 1962, married in 1966, worked as a mechanic, then later at BIW where he retired from.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping with friends and family, spending time with his grandsons and many dogs over the years. He fulfilled his lifelong dream to travel to Alaska in an RV in 2014 with his wife of 56 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Anne C. Adams Laplante; and his brother-in-law, Adrien Dumais.
He is survived by his children, Cindy Laplante and Kevin Laplante, daughter-in-law/godchild, Lisa Laplante; his grandsons Dustin Laplante and Hunter Laplante; his sister, Diane Dumais; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St., Lewiston, Saturday, April 12 at 10 a.m., with a prayer service at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lewiston at a later date.
