RANGELEY — The Rangeley Oquossoc Adventure Rendezvous (ROAR), part of Maine’s High Peaks PaddleFest, is a two-day, 40-mile paddling stage race featuring a paddle through the incredible lands and waters of the Rangeley Lakes, showcasing the best of the area. This year’s ROAR will take place June 20-22.
ROAR accepts all boat types, from C-2s and C-4s to kayaks, stand up paddleboards, guideboats and more. Day 1 of the race totals 20 miles and takes paddlers from Rangeley Town Cove Park, across the north side of Rangeley Lake, through the Oquossoc carry and onto Lake Mooselookmeguntic. From there, paddlers head across Mooselookmeguntic to Upper Dam, where they carry to Richardson Lake and finish at Mill Brook Boat Launch. Day 2 is the same course in reverse.
ROAR is part of the Maine High Peaks PaddleFest, which includes live music, demos, kids events, food vendors and more.
