Allen Isaac Miller
GALVESTON, Texas – Allen Isaac Miller passed away in Galveston, Texas on April 6, 2025. He was born on July 7, 1930. His parents were Dorothy and Abraham Miller.
He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a master’s degree. He joined the Navy in 1955 and was commissioned an Ensign. Upon graduation from MIT, he married the love of his life, Sandra Rosenthal, on June 27, 1954. They lived in multiple locations around the country before moving to Lewiston, Maine in 1970.
He enjoyed playing golf and crossword puzzles but most of all traveling, and specifically cruising. The Millers went on over 40 ocean cruises, four river cruises and six land vacations out of the USA.
The Millers moved from Maine to Galveston, Texas in 2005 to be with daughter, Barbara and son-in-law Donald. They lived in The Breakers Condominium where they made many good friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sandra Rosenthal Miller in 2023; son, Martin, in 2003; and his sister, Elaine Goodman in 2021.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Meick and husband Ronald Meick, his daughter, Barbara Legate and her husband Donald Legate and his daughter-in-law, Linda Corman Miller. He is also survived by three grandsons, Philip Meick and his wife Michelle, Ethan Meick and his wife Tiffany, Benjamin Miller; and great-granddaughter, Maud Meick.
Allen lived his final years at The Meridian in Galveston, Texas, where he received extremely good care. The family would like to thank the staff at the Meridian and the Hospice Care Group for their generous care and support.
