To the Editor:
It’s that time of the year again. On May 3, we’ll wander the roads of Greenwood picking up litter left from the winter.
Volunteers will meet at the Greenwood Town Office parking lot on the Gore Road on May 3 (Saturday) at 9 a.m. You will be assigned a stretch of road to clean up, and you can either walk or drive that stretch. Trash bags and gloves will be provided.
Helpers may work as long or as short as you want. Some of us will pick up trash until 11 a.m.; others will work for half an hour. All help is important. A free lunch will be provided afterward for volunteers. Everyone is welcome to join us.
Please come participate, we need your help to make our community green again. Both Bethel and Woodstock will have roadside cleanup on the same day. Check their media sites for information.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
