Lawrence J. White

SOUTH PARIS – Lawrence J. White died peacefully at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris, Maine, April 23, 2025. He was born on Jan. 28, 1927, in Maynard, Mass., the son of Joseph S. and Marion (Rice) White. He was married to Patricia (Parker) White of Norway, Maine.

He graduated from Norway High School, Class of 1944. Following graduation, he served in the Army Airforce in World War II. He returned to Maine after the war where he married Lillian E. Carro and settled in Otisfield then later in Norway. He enjoyed flying and owned a Piper Cub aircraft that he always remembered.

Lawrence was a member of the local VFW post in Norway for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as favorite pastimes.

He is survived by three sons and one daughter. Bruce, Steven, Jeffrey, and Shelia.

He was predeceased by a daughter Brenda (Mullins) White, son Joseph White; and three previous wives, Lillian, Louise, and Martha.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday May 22, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Riverside Annex Cemetery with Military Honors.
