James “Jim” Drapeau

RUMFORD – James “Jim” Drapeau, 80, died Thursday, May 1, 2025, at his residence in Rumford.

Jim was born in Rumford, on Jan. 4, 1945, the son of Alfred and Bernice (Dower) Drapeau. He was a graduate of Mexico High School class of 1963 and worked on construction, a milk man for Beau’s Dairy, delivery for Nissen Baking Co., and Head Custodian and Bus Driver for RSU #10 until his retirement in 2021. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and socializing.

Jim was married in Mexico, on May 24, 1997, to Sandra Theriault who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include his daughter Dawn and husband Gadi Ilan of Texas, granddaughters, Hannah Ilan and Audrey Ilan, niece Jasmine Daigle, nephew Jacob Brooks; great-nieces Kendall Daigle and Sydney Daigle, great-nephew, Dane Daigle and many cousins and friends who he thought the world of.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday May 24, 2025, at the Mountain Valley High School Auditorium. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Rumford. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
