Martin “Marty” R. Nadeau
LEWISTON – Martin “Marty” R. Nadeau, 66, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025, while at the Andwell Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.
Martin was born in Lewiston on Nov. 20, 1958, a son of the late Ange and Anita (Bannister) Nadeau. He was the fourth of five children. He attended local schools before obtaining his diploma from Lewiston High School. He spent most of his career working as a glazier, spending many years with Soule Glass.
Marty was a long-time member of both the Carlton Club and Pastime Club in Lewiston where he enjoyed socializing with friends, playing pool and playing shuffle bowl. He was an avid sports fan, first playing hockey and baseball in a home-grown neighborhood league on Elliott Avenue, before continuing for many years in an adult softball league. He shared his passion for sports with his children and spent countless hours teaching, coaching and cheering them on. He was an outstanding pool player and was very proud to be part of his pool league team, WTFIN.
He is survived by his loving partner of 17 years, Debbie Lake; his two daughters, Jessica Aboelezz and husband David of Vermont, Brittany Nadeau and husband Luis of Louisiana; Debbie’s three daughters, Jenn, Maureen, and Kim; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his two brothers, Richard Nadeau and wife Barbara of Minot, and Normand Nadeau and wife Tina of Auburn; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Jacquie Allaire; and his brother, Larry Nadeau.
Martin’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Debbie’s daughter, Maureen, for allowing him to stay home until his final days, as well as to the caring staff at the Andwell Hospice House.
A celebration of life honoring Marty will be held on Monday, May 12, from 3 – 7 p.m. at the Pastime Club in Lewiston. Online condolences may be shared with the family at http://www.advantageportland.com.
