A big thank you to the seven people who came out for Community Clean Up Day and to my husband for taking the trash to the transfer station. We covered quite a section of Bear River Road. If you weren’t able to come out, feel free to pick up the roadside at any time to keep our town clean.
There is a new Little Free Library in town at the Sunday River Schoolhouse, sponsored by the Bethel Library Association and made by the Congo Craftsmen.
The tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths are in full bloom, and the lawn and fields are so lush and green. We’ve even mowed the lawn twice so far. We had our first baby of the year, and he is as cute as can be. Let’s hope he gets some fence training, as he decided to go on a venture alone when he was less than 24 hours old. How he made it across the Bear River and lived, we will never know.
The apple trees arrived, and we are planning where to plant them. I’m looking forward to visiting the area greenhouses for my flowers, but it is just a bit too early, as the possibility of a frost in this area is not out of reach. Get out and enjoy the sunshine, as we’ve had an abundance of rainy and dreary days.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
