Kudos to all those who have worked so diligently to preserve the existence of the beloved Saint Dominic Academy.
It seems ironic to this Catholic, in an era of goodwill for the Catholic Church, generated by Pope Francis’ tenure of goodwill and the sadness of his death, then the excitement of the election of our first American pope — Pope Leo — that the seeming unwillingness of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland to work with the areas devoted Catholics to keep St. Dom’s open just doesn’t make sense to this 75-year-old Catholic.
