KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and cherished friend to many, Tashawna Alyse York, whom left this world unexpectedly at the age of 23 on May 5, 2025, in Knoxville, Tenn.

Tashawna was a radiant soul whom those close to her describe as being the human form of sunshine or the color yellow. She had contagious laughter, a wonderful sense of humor, and a bright smile that made everyone feel at home in her presence. She was fiercely loyal and protective of those she loved. She loved deeply and unconditionally, and was always ready for a long drive with music, or for an adventure with a view of mountains or the ocean. Tashawna loved animals (particularly horses) and had chosen to pursue a career in veterinary care. If she wasn’t spending time with loved ones or animals, she could be found drawing, taking photos, or journaling.

Tashawna is survived by her mother, Barbara York; siblings Travis York, Trisha Binette, Trevor Binette, Joseph Gaudreau, and Paul Gaudreau, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Jody Gaudreau; sister Jenna Gaudreau; and grandparents Gary and Dorothy York, and Freida and Joe Gaudreau.

Memorial services will be announced by the family at a later date.
