Lionel R. Frechette

TAMPA, Fla. – Lionel R. Frechette passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 13, 2024. He was born on April 30, 1936, to Roland and Gladys (McClure) Frechette.

“Nel” was a graduate of Lewiston High School. He served in the United States Coast Guard as an Electricians Mate. He also graduated from the University of Southern Maine. He married his high school sweetheart Sarah (Sally) Cohen.

In 1971, he married Pauline Paradis, They raised three children then moved to Tampa, Fla.

Nel was very talented and experienced in carpentry always remodeling something.

He loved his family and looked forward to the yearly visits from his daughter and granddaughters who adored him. He was looking forward to coming to Maine to meet his two new great-granddaughters, but he became unexpectedly ill and passed away in between the births of these precious babies.

Nel was predeceased by his parents Roland and Gladys; his first and second wives Sally and Pauline, his sister Irene; and son Steve,

He is survived by his son, Paul (Claire) of Bradenton, Fla. and daughter, Betty (Herb) of Lewiston; his grandson, Ian (Stephanie) and granddaughters Kim (Josh) Cunningham and Katie (Kendall) Boudreau; and great-grandchildren Jacob, Madison, Charlotte and Payton.
