Rita A. Angers
LEWISTON – Rita A. Angers, 89, of Lewiston, passed away on May 24, 2025, at Central Maine Medical Center.
Born on March 8, 1936, she was the daughter of Lucien and Marie Anne (Sirois) Angers. Rita was educated at St. Peter’s School and graduated with the class of 1954 from St. Dominic Regional High School. A lifelong parishioner, she was a devoted member of Holy Cross Church – Prince of Peace Parish.
Rita was employed at General Electric in Auburn for 31 years before retiring in 1998.
Rita enjoyed traveling, especially to visit relatives in Canada. She remained true to her Franco-American heritage, attending many cultural events in the area. Although she never had children of her own, she was always actively involved in the lives of her many nieces and nephews, and supportive of their celebrations and accomplishments. Rita will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her radiant smile, unselfish love, and generosity.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Anita and her husband Aurelien “Babe” Larochelle, brothers Leonard and his wife Jacqueline, and Normand and his wife Monette.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 9-10:30 a.m. at Albert & Burpee Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m., at Holy Cross Church, 1080 Lisbon St., Lewiston. Interment and committal prayers will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery, also in Lewiston.
