Darrold Comstock

MEXICO – Darrold Comstock, 98, died Tuesday May 20, 2025, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway surrounded by family. He was a resident of Main Street in Mexico, Maine.

Darrold was born in Farmington on Jan. 23, 1927, and was a son of Orman and Viola (Hemingway) Comstock. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He joined the Oxford Paper Company in 1948. He retired from the Kraft Mill in 1986.

He was a member of the Mexico Congregational Church, Eagles Post 1248 and life member of Rumford VFW Post 1641 and Legion Post 24, the Snow Shoe Club, S.A.M and Mexico Historical Society.

Darrold was married in Mexico to Beryl Lohnes Comstock who died in Mexico on Feb. 10, 2024. They spent 74 years enjoying raising their family, enjoying traveling and outdoor life. They spent a lot of their time refurbishing the family camp in Byron where it was Beryls dream of retiring in her home town.

Darrold is survived by his daughter Pam Rowley of Peru and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Richard Comstock.Friends and family are invited to share memories of Darrold at: http://www.meaderandson.com.

There will be a double graveside burial service for both Darrold and Beryl, since their wishes were to be buried together, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Pineview Cemetery in Roxbury.
