To the Editor:
I enthusiastically endorse Ms. Cristoforo for a seat on the Bethel Select Board. She and I spent a year together working on the Ethel Bisbee Committee. From the start, she distinguished herself as a highly intelligent, generous, calm, thoughtful person, with impressive abilities. She quickly became a crucial leader in our work, with her communication and computer skills, her creative ideas, and willingness to contribute time and energy to the process.
For a younger person, she’s really an “old soul,” who takes time to deliberate all angles, rather than jump in with judgment. She is very much invested in our town and dedicated to helping us grow smartly. I think anyone who knows her would agree that this very respectful and articulate person is well-suited to take on this responsibility for town service.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
