Doris Therese Masse

AUBURN – Doris Therese Masse, 84, of Lewiston, passed away June 5, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Lewiston in December of 1940, to the late Joseph and Ophilia Gagne.

Doris loved spending time with her growing family alongside her loving husband, enjoying time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a daycare provider to her grandchildren, sharing early childhood experiences with them that are memories never forgotten. She also loved her great grandchildren, always attending their birthdays, sporting events, and enjoying the holidays.

Doris served as the Knights of Columbus Counsel 12652 Ladies Auxiliary President and was a Eucharistic Minister for Holy Cross church in Lewiston.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph (Ray) Masse of Lewiston: daughter, Donna Kelly and her husband Tom, of Auburn; daughter, Anita Gagne and her husband Paul of Lewiston: grandchildren, Brandon Kelly and wife Lyn, Micaela Kelly, Keenan White and wife Ali, Josh Gagne-Lueng and wife Melanie, and Kendrick White and wife Jessica. Great-grandchildren, Parker, Jenevieve, Wyatt, Elliana, Boston, Kaiden, Michael, and Karina.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at The Fortin and Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 1080 Lisbon St., Lewiston. Committal Prayers will follow at the St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lewiston.
