NORWAY — Danielle Wadsworth won reelection Tuesday for a second term on the Norway Select Board,
Newcomer Anita Hakala knocked off incumbent Ryan Lorrain to also win a seat on the board.
Wadsworth, the daughter of former Selectman Warren Sessions, received 215 votes out of more than 400 cast. Hakala totaled 197 votes, followed by Lorrain with 150 votes and Brandon Abbott with 92.
Hakala, a nurse for 50 years, has served on a Police Force Committee years ago and also worked on the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments plan, she said before the election. She is a life-long resident of Norway. She said she was not running on any platform and would keep an open mind on issues.
Lorrain, currently the director of communications for the Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services, was seeking his third term on the board.
In other races, Kelly Jacobson ran unopposed to claim a seat on the Maine School Administrative District 17 board and Cynthia Harbage topped a field of three contenders for the library trustees position. Harbage had 341 votes, followed by Brendan Schauffler with 285 votes and Mark Maksimowicz with 263.
