Constance E. Burnham

LEWISTON – Constance Eve (Boston) Burnham passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Woodlands Memory Care Center in Lewiston. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family.

She was born in Palmyra on June 30, 1941. Connie was born to Chester Boston and Lena (Dalton) Boston. She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1959 and met Arthur Burnham shortly after, while working at Central Maine General Hospital. The two married the same year. Together, they raised four children, James, Jon, Jeffrey and Jennifer-and lovingly fostered over 100 children.

Alzheimer’s steals not only from the person who has it, but their family and friends. We will forever be thankful the disease never managed to take Connie’s humor, her deep love of chocolate, and her beautiful laugh; the things that were innately “Connie”. We hope all who miss her are comforted to know that she is with Arthur, the husband who was so dedicated and lovingly stubborn. He took care of her long after he was physically fit to do so.

We’ll always remember Connie’s strength, her no-nonsense advice, her habit of sneaking a purse of candies and popped popcorn into every movie theater, and her talents for knitting, crocheting, and comforting her grandchildren.

Connie is survived by her children, James and his wife Kathy, Jon and his wife Jo, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Felicia, and many loved foster children. She also leaves behind grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Arthur; her son, Jody; her siblings, Janice, Sharon, and Larry; and her two grandsons, Zuka Mabior and Jacob Burnham.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 28 at 4 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home, 45 Main St., South Paris with interment to follow at Fore Street Cemetery in Oxford.
