Thomas Lee Morris

LISBON – Thomas Lee Morris, of Lisbon, Maine, died on June 12, 2025 at the age of 79. Tom was born on Feb. 21, 1946 in Long Beach, Calif., to Benjamin and Blanche (Jenkins) Morris, and raised in Arlington, Texas.

A proud veteran, Tom served his country with distinction for 25 years in the United States Navy, working as a P-3 aircraft mechanic. After retiring, he made his home in Maine, a state he loved deeply, and remained there until his passing.

Tom gave generously of his time and talents to the community, coaching baseball, supporting local schools, and volunteering with the Girl Scouts. His greatest passion, however, was his work with the Pine Tree Council, Boy Scouts of America. He was a guiding force for countless young people as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader, and as a longtime staff member at Camp Hinds, where he served as Shooting Sports Director and Commissioner. His exceptional service was honored with the Order of the Arrow’s Vigil Honor, where he was bestowed the name “Sharpshooter”, and the Silver Beaver Award — both recognizing his lifelong commitment to youth development and leadership.

Tom was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Daniel and John; and his previous wife, Karen. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Jerry Morris, Rick Morris, Thain Witham, and Krista Morris; his sister, Patricia; his dear friend, Sue Pinette, and her granddaughter, Zoey; as well as many close friends who cherished his presence and friendship through the years.

Tom will be remembered as a loving, caring, deeply dedicated, although endearingly stubborn man. He was always ready to lend a hand, offer a listening ear, share a favorite firearm for sport, or treat someone to a trip to Dunkin’ Donuts. His generosity, humor, and loyalty left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to:

the Pine Tree Council, BSA

in honor of Tom’s lifelong service and love for Scouting.
