Roland L. Pouliot
BRUNSWICK – Roland L. Pouliot, 98, of Brunswick, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Thornton Hall.
He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 30, 1926, the son of Antonio and Yvonne (Poulin) Pouliot. He attended local schools, St. Peter and St. Paul grammar school and Lewiston High School.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Navy in the Philippine Islands on a Navy minesweeper, YMS 52.
Roland graduated from the University of Maine with a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering.
On Aug. 2, 1952, he was married to Therese “Terry” Christinia Martin, of Old Town. She passed away Feb. 6, 1970. They had four daughters together, Ann, Nancy, Susan, and Diane. In June 1971, Roland married Sally Ann Robbins in Portland.
During his working career he was employed in Bristol, Conn.; Lisbon, Lewiston and Portland, Maine.
He enjoyed the outdoors; summer and winter, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, four-wheeling and working in his garden. He also enjoyed playing the piano and the music of the ’30s, ’40s, and ’50s.
He was predeceased by Sally, March 11, 2017 after 46 years of marriage. They enjoyed life together, traveling to many national parks and taking several cruises.
Roland is survived by his daughters Ann Pouliot and husband Terry Marks, Nancy Paradis and husband John Paradis, Susan H. Brown and husband Dale Brown and Diane Taylor; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration Of Life on Aug. 29, at 12 p.m. at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Ave., Augusta.
