Gary E. Roak
AUBURN – Gary E. Roak, 67, of Auburn passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Andwell Hospice House with his family by his side.
He was born in Lewiston on January 29, 1958 the son of Hugh and Maxine Pierce Roak. He graduated from Oxford Hills High School and served in the U. S. Navy Reserve.
He held several jobs over the years to include Lily Trucking, working in the woods with his dad, Pep Boys, Jewell Tire and his favorite, parts delivery driver for O’Reilly Auto Parts. At one time he owned and operated Roak & Son Auto Electric in Norway.
When his boys were younger he coached baseball farm team and little league. Gary played the bugle for the Norway/Paris comets and played the trumpet for the OHHS band and was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Paris. He enjoyed RC cars, making moonshine and giving it away and family camping vacations. He loved cooking and helping people.
He is survived by his wife Lyn Thibodeau Roak of Auburn; daughters Brandi Thompson and husband Alan and Kylie Roak; sons Joshua Weymouth and wife Kimberly and Shawn Roak and wife Erin; stepson Troy Bean and wife Emily; 8 grandchildren Dylan, Serenity, Kristopher, Jada, Brandon, Eliza, Anaiah and Landen; sister Kathryn Pulsifer and husband Lloyd of Oxford; brother Darrell Roak and wife Mary of Casco; special nephew Stephen and wife Tanya as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and his best friend Joseph Auger and wife Christine.
He was predeceased by his parents; and sister Cheryl.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 17 E. Main St., South Paris. Gary wants people to wear denim.
