Reba

Our oldest gal’s name is Reba. Reba came to us as a stray and was never claimed. We’re not sure how no one could come to claim her; she is as sweet as pie. We believe Reba is around 8-9 years old. Reba is a hound, and unlike most hounds, she is quiet and calm. There is potential for her to go to a home with another dog, as she hasn’t shown much reactivity to dogs at the shelter. She also seemed not to care about cats. We are unsure of her history with children, but we believe a home with older children would be fine.

Reba absolutely loves meeting new people. She gets discouraged when someone doesn’t come to say hi to her. She walks well on a leash and seems to be house-trained. Reba is not a very active dog, but loves to be outside sunbathing. She is eagerly looking for her retirement home where she can snuggle with her new family on the couch.

Dove

Meet Dove. Dove is another long-term resident at our shelter. She has been with us for 750 days. When she arrived, we quickly discovered that she was in rough shape. Old and new scabs all over her body, we were not quite sure what had happened to her. After treating her and making her feel as comfortable as possible, we concluded that certain medicines were not helping, and neither was the food we were feeding her. Dove suffers from allergies that make her skin break out into rashes and hives. As we tried other medications and food, we finally found a happy medium. She has grown a lot of confidence, and our staff has grown to love her so much. She is going to need medicine for the rest of her life, and special food to help her live a comfortable life. Dove would make a wonderful cat for most homes. She is curious, affectionate, silly, and has spent far too long in a cage. If you’re interested in learning more about Dove or adopting her, please call Responsible Pet Care.
