Janette Bouin

SOUTH PARIS – Janette Blouin, 87, died Thursday July 10, 2025, at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris surrounded by her loving family.

Janette was born in Rumford on Dec. 14, 1937, the daughter of Frank and Leona (LaPerle) West. She was raised on the family farm in South Rumford. She was graduate of Stephens High School class of 1956. She worked for the Oxford Paper Company before raising her family and later Bartash’s Stationary.

She was a member of St. Timothy Circle #501, Daughters of Isabella, a communicant of the Parish of The Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church and was a member of the Rumford Historical Society. She was quick to volunteer where there was a need and was a 4-H Leader for many years, she enjoyed crafts and sewing, camping, hosting family and friends, and was often either gardening or canning Leo’s harvest

Janette was married in Rumford on June 8, 1968, to Leo Blouin who died in Rumford on June 17, 2012.

She is survived by her son, David of Rumford and daughter, Carol Jones of Gorham; grandchildren Collin Jones and fiancé Meaghan Conway of Denver, Colo. and Aaron Jones of Berlin, Mass.; brothers Norman West of South Rumford and Raymond West and wife Dottie of South Rumford; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday July 17 at the Parish of The Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford. Interment will be in St John Cemetery in Rumford. Friends and family are invited to call at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
