Freda Truman
VENICE, Fla. – Freda Truman, born Dec. 22, 1943, daughter of Fred and Jessie Bartlett (both deceased), passed away on June 23, 2025 in Venice, Fla. after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She lived most of her life in Maine but also loved spending time in Florida.
Freda was married to Leon Truman for 46 years and raised a family in Norway until his death in 2007. In later years she had a companion, Galen Cook, until his death in 2022.
She is survived by her four children and their families, Vicki and her children Ryon and Natasia; Lee, his wife Kristin and their children Greggory, Aaron, Abigale and Maggie; Becky and her children, Brittany, Katelyn, Jessie and Kassie; and Mark, his wife Jessica and their children, Connor, Caden and Brady; along with 12 great-grandchildren.
Freda was one of 10 children and is survived by Bob, Bette, Carol and Phil.
Freda was known in her community in Maine as an accountant/bookkeeper for a few businesses and as treasurer for the Norway Country Club. She graduated from Oxford Hills High School and went on to get her associate’s degree at University of Maine Augusta.
Freda was involved in community events, some being: A Christmas in a small town and thrift shop. She enjoyed golfing and events at Norway Country Club. She loved games, trivia, mystery dinners and mystery books and movies. She loved Christmas and Christmas music.
The family will hold visitation on July 19, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and a service at 11 a.m. in the Oxford Hill Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1037 Main St., Oxford.
