Maurice “Moe” L. Nadeau

MONMOUTH – Maurice “Moe” L. Nadeau, 90, of Monmouth passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Claudette G. (Cyr) Nadeau.

He was born in Lisbon, on June 4, 1935 a son of the late Alphonse and Gloria (Simoneau) Nadeau. He grew up in Lisbon attending local area schools. Following school he joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country for the next four years.

Upon returning Moe married Claudette and started a family. He started his career at Poulins Bicycle Shop in Lewiston, then went on to manage the Ski Rack and it’s three locations. He then opened his own bicycle shop called Moe’s Bicycle Shop on Sabattus St in Lewiston, where he stayed until retiring in 1998.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman, enjoying the outdoors with friends and family.

Besides his wife he is survived by three children Sandra Garant and her husband Normand of Lewiston, Bruce Nadeau and his wife Kathy of Lewiston and Peter Nadeau and his wife Dianne of Greene, as well as eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He also leaves behind five siblings and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 9 – 11 a.m., at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., at the funeral home followed by committal prayers at St Peter’s Cemetery, Lewiston.
