HANOVER – Marie E. Halacy, 78, of Hanover, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 21, 2025 at the Hospice House in Auburn. Free of pain and disease, she has realized the hope of eternal life through faith in Christ alone.

Marie was born in Rumford on May 14, 1947, the daughter of Edward (John) and Alyce (Blake) Peare. She was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford, class of 1965. She retired after 19 years from Sunday River in the Food Service Department. She enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing and shopping for Christmas gifts and filling ginormous gift bags for her great-grandchildren. She always made holidays special.

Marie is survived by her two daughters, Tina Farrington and husband Scott of Andover and Kelly Morton and husband Kevin of Andover; grandchildren, Jessica, John, Joshua, Candace and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Leah, Lucy, Lydia, Mya, and Mac; siblings Peter, Dan (Kim), Donna, and Lisa.

She was predeceased by her parents; and sister, Bonnie.

Marie will be remembered by all who loved her for her grit and independent spirit. She never let her health issues stop her from planning, dreaming and doing. It is a good thing Heaven is already perfect or she would be painting and wallpapering something up there.
