To the Editor:
Who? You, your family, your business
What? Take part in Bethel’s Molly Ockett Day Parade
Where? Bethel, Maine. Gathering in the parking lot of the River Lanes Bowling Alley to eventually proceed up Main Street and around the Common.
When? Saturday, Aug. 9. The parade start time is 10:30 a.m. Please arrive at the parking lot by at least 9:30 a.m. to get paperwork in and lined up. Preregistering is preferred, but same-day entries are allowed as long as we can keep up with it all!
Why? To help celebrate the return of Molly Ockett Day!
We welcome individual entries, groups, business floats, business fleets, organizations, vehicles, horses, horse-drawn carriages, ATVs, and this year’s theme is “Heroes,” leaving it open to countless options! Want to dress up your bikes, pets, family, friends, or coworkers in fun costumes together? Then we want you! Maybe some of Crescent Park’s most recent fifth grade graduates can resurrect their recent Wax Museum characters… they were awesome! But we welcome your parade entry even if it doesn’t portray any heroic thoughts that day!
Questions? Contact Bethel Area Business Association on Facebook. You can also email Ellen Whitney at [email protected], as she is volunteering to do the lineup.
To learn more and preregister, go to forms.gle/Z3gfdyPRN5wYBEzbA to print and fill out the forms, and then either return them to Ellen at Maine Line Products in Greenwood, or give them to Jewel “wherever” you may see her! We highly encourage preregistering; however, you can also bring completed forms on the morning of the parade, and we will also have extras there at the pre-parade line-up.
There is no fee to participate; however, participants will be required to sign liability waivers.
Thank you!
Ellen Whitney and Jewel Clark
