Rodney T. Rolfe

NORWAY – Rodney T. Rolfe, 91, of Norway, passed away on July 21, 2025.

Born on March 10, 1934 in Harrison, to Edwin and Ethel Rolfe, he was a devoted husband to Patricia Ann (Lambert) Rolfe and a loving stepfather to Danny, Denise, Julie, and Renee.

Rodney was a decorated Army veteran who served the country from 1951-1971 including multiple tours in Korea and Vietnam. After retiring from the Army, Rodney opened and operated a discount shoe store in Norway for about 10 years.

Though Rodney did not like being the center of attention, he deserves to be acknowledged for his commitment to Pat, her children as well as his family of origin. He was known for his quiet steadiness, generosity, and sense of humor. He also loved a good home goods sale and a winning scratch ticket.

Rodney’s hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed playing cribbage, 31, and other card games with many friends over his lifetime. His love for fishing, both fresh water and ocean, ran deep. As recently as last fall, he was filling bait bags on his friend’s lobster boat in Jonesport.

He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Ann Lambert Rolfe; and his stepson, Daniel Bourgoine.

He is survived by Denise (David) Bourgoine, Julie (Daniel) Anderson, Renee (Victor) Serio; as well as eight grandchildren, Sophia, Lucia, Kathryn, River, Owen, Renata, Luca, and Roman; and two great-grandsons, Evander and Bentley. He is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Per his request, a private memorial service will be held at a later date with immediate family.
