Rita J. Gosselin

LEWISTON – Rita J. Gosselin, 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at CMMC. She was born in Lewiston on May 31, 1938 to Arthur J. Gosselin and Delia (Hamel) Gosselin. Rita was one of nine children. She lived all her life in Lewiston She attended St. Peters School and graduated from St. Dom’s in 1957.

She worked in the office at Knapp Shoe for 37 years and then for TD Bank for 17 years, retiring at age 80. Rita had deep faith and was proud of her French heritage.

She was a member of the singing group Les Troubadours. Rita volunteered at the Franco Center and St. Mary’s Hospital. She loved to watch the Bruins and Patriots play on TV. Rita enjoyed cooking for her family on holidays and traveling with friends.

Rita was predeceased by her parents, brothers Roland, Bob, Armand and Roger Gosselin, sister Therese Giem. sisters-in-law Pauline, Shirley and Laurette Gosselin, brother-in-law Richard Giem, and her dear friend Alliette Couturier.

She is survived by her brothers Raymond Gosselin, Lucien (Anna Rose) Gosselin and Maurice (Linda) Gosselin; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Schooner Memory Care for their compassionate care towards Rita.

A Funeral Mass honoring Rita’s life will be celebrated on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Committal services will then follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at The Fortin & Pinette Group 217 Turner Street in Auburn, 783-8545.
