Daniel Thomas Mynahan
AUBURN – Daniel Thomas Mynahan, a lifelong resident of Lewiston, Maine, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on April 27, 1950, to Joseph and Rita Riordan Mynahan, Dan lived a life rooted in family, community, and a deep love for the place he proudly called home.
A graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1968, Dan was a standout student and athlete. He was a member of the National Honor Society and participated in football, track, and the ski team. Dan graduated from the University of Maine at Orono, where he met the love of his life, Linda Foley. Dan and Linda were married on June 7, 1975, and recently celebrated 50 years of marriage as best friends and soulmates.
Dan was a dedicated professional, working in Major Accounts at The Dunlap Agency and later serving as a consultant for the Bilodeau Insurance Agency. Known for his strong work ethic and personal integrity, he built lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
Equally committed to service, Dan gave generously of his time on multiple Boards, and also supported the Bates College track team, sharing his time and encouragement with student-athletes.
Dan found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—golfing with friends at Martindale Country Club, traveling with Linda, and spending peaceful days at their camp on Androscoggin Lake in Leeds. A devoted sports fan, Dan enjoyed attending local high school and college athlete events and faithfully cheered on the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots.
Dan was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Rita Mynahan. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his brother, Timothy Mynahan, and sister-in-law, Linda “Suzy” Mynahan; sister-in-law, Candace Healy and husband Jack; niece, Jenny Mynahan Abeles (husband, Steven); nephews, TJ Mynahan (wife Jewel), Patrick Healy (wife Aly), and Michael Healy (wife Nicole); grandnieces, Quinn Abeles, Lola Mynahan, Arielle Mynahan, and Rowyn Healy; and grandnephews, Conor Abeles and Noah Healy.
The Mynahan family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate caregivers at the Andwell Hospice House in Auburn and the team at Andwell Home Healthcare for their exceptional care and kindness.
