Marc David Packard
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Marc David Packard, widely known as Dave, passed away peacefully at 65-years-old on July 2, 2025, in Newport Beach, California, surrounded by his family.
Born in 1960 in Bryants Pond, Maine, Dave graduated from Telstar Regional High School in 1978 and from Bryant College in Rhode Island in 1982 with a degree in Business Administration. He moved to California and began his career in accounting as a CPA. In 1988, he established his business M. David Packard, an Accountancy Corporation and began serving his community as a private tax preparer. In 1995, he became Chief Financial Officer of Landmark Companies in Newport Beach. Despite being diagnosed with leukemia in 2021, he continued both careers right up until his untimely death.
Dave spent many years serving the church with his wife, Sally, leading a college group and later a high school group ministry. Their home was always open for fellowship and food, and was frequently filled with friends, family, neighbors, and anyone looking for community. Many lost teens came to know and love Jesus through his ministry and mentorship. He participated in men’s Bible Study groups for many years and drew great comfort from the support and fellowship of these groups during his long illness.
Dave is survived by his wife, Sally, their three children, Shelley (Tom), Katie (Brennon), and Michael (Amber), and four grandchildren, as well as his brother Richard, his sister Jodi Keniston, and many loving nieces and nephews.
“No one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away.” – Terry Pratchett, Reaper Man
Dave caused many ripples that will not soon fade away.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Sunday August 24, from 1-4 p.m., at The Dragonfly Barn, 95 Sanborns Grove Road, Bridgton, ME 04009
