To the Editor:
Thank you for starting to look into how some of these local officials think they have immunity from everything. Everything is secret, they simply don’t respond or show up at pre-determined meetings and it requires a FOAA to get anything from them. It took me 13 weeks to get only some of the information.
I just wrote to the full (Norway) SelectBoard the following:
This Town so needs to apply some ethical standards to it’s operations.
Norway is one of the few municipalities that doesn’t have a formal code of ethics and everything that I have seen tells me you are desperately in need of one.
Use my tax dollars as membership in the MMA to get assistance. They can help you. You need it. Your people obviously feel they can be out of control.
You are sinking deeper into a backwater small town by way of your “leadership”.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
