Jacqueline Marie Langevin
MEXICO – Jacqueline Marie Langevin, 28, of Mexico, Maine, passed away on Sept. 9, 2025, just days after her 28th birthday.
Born on Sept. 3, 1997, at Cape Cod Hospital, Jackie, as she was affectionately known, brought boundless creativity, love, and faith to everyone around her. Her family moved to Maine when she was a young child, where she grew to cherish the state’s natural beauty and embrace its outdoor wonders.
Jackie’s life was intertwined with her beloved fiancé, Taylor Carey, with whom she shared a deep love and dreams of a future together. The couple, who planned to marry on Oct. 4, 2025, found joy in cooking and baking, with Jackie’s sourdough breads earning her a special place in the hearts of family and friends. Their shared faith as devout Christians anchored their lives, and they were active members of their church, finding strength and purpose in their devotion.
An artist at heart, Jackie expressed her creativity through jewelry-making, crafting unique pieces from nature’s treasures—stones and materials she mined herself, often gathered from Maine’s beaches and ocean shores. Her small jewelry business, started early in life and expanded, reflected her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for art. Jackie excelled in graphite sketching and painting, hobbies that showcased her boundless imagination. At 20, her natural grace, presence and pose gift led her to model, including runway at New York Fashion Week.
Jackie’s love for the outdoors began in childhood, when she embraced Maine’s seasons with enthusiasm—snowshoeing, skiing in winter, and all-season mountain climbing, fishing and hiking. Taylor and Jackie’s love for the outdoors bonded them and they shared many outdoor activities dear to Jackie’s heart. Their beloved dogs, Jackie’s Patch and Sadie, along with Taylor’s four dogs, were constant companions, bringing joy to their lives.
Education was a cornerstone of Jackie’s life. She attended Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine, where she participated in field hockey and the arts, before transferring to the new Baxter Academy of Science and Technology in Portland, and was part of its first graduating class in 2016. Jackie went on to earn degrees in International Business, Psychology and Honors from the University of Southern Maine in 2023 and received a Certificate of Excellence in International Business. A university scholarship took her to Iceland, an experience that amazed her and deepened her love for global cultures. At USM, she was an active member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority, where she made special friendships.
After graduation, Jackie worked in the jewelry industry, blending her artistic talents with her professional ambitions. It was during this time that she met Taylor, and their love blossomed quickly, built on shared values, faith, and a zest for life.
Jackie was predeceased by her and Taylor’s beloved newborn daughter, Cecilia Marie, her grandparents Robert and Judith Gelinas, and Frank and Sandra Langevin, and Taylor’s mother, Cheryl Carey.
She is survived by her fiancé, Taylor Carey; her mother, Michele Langevin; her father, David Langevin; her dearest sibling, Julien Langevin; her stepmother, Amy Kohtala; and stepsiblings, Hope and Jordyn; Taylor’s father, Brett Carey; and Taylor’s four siblings and their families; her aunts, uncles, cousins; and countless friends. Jackie loved and cherished them all.
