Marlene H. Landus
POLAND – Marlene H. Landus, 84, of Poland, died late Tuesday evening at her home in Poland in the comfort of family.
She was born in Farmington, May 7, 1941, a daughter of Gerald Vernon and Virginia Alberta (Latham) Walsh and received her education in local schools. She is a 1959 graduate of Jay High School.
Marlene married her high school boyfriend, Richard E. Bodge, in 1960 and they had two daughters, Dianne and Tracy.
In 1987 she married Edward J. Landus and returned to her hometown of Jay, where they resided for many years. During that time, she actively contributed as a member of the Jay Historical Society.
In 2009 she moved to Poland to share a home with her daughter, Tracy A. Jarvis, and her grandson, Justin M. Jarvis.
Marlene was an avid gardener. She spent countless hours lovingly tending her flower gardens. She also was a talented scrapbooker. She beautifully documented photos and family history to pass on to generations to come.
Marlene is survived by her two daughters, Dianne E. Kalb and her husband, Paul, of Henderson, N.C., Tracy A. Jarvis, of Poland; and her grandson, Justin M. Jarvis, of Poland.
Graveside memorial services will be held Thursday, Oct. 9 at 2 p.m. at Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Ave., Augusta. Memories may be shared in her Book of Memories at http://www.wilesrc.com. Wiles Remembrance Center of Jay is honored to be caring for services.
