Robert P. LeCompte
LANTANA, Fla. – Robert “Bob” LeCompte, 90, formerly of Lewiston, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sept. 9, 2025. Born in Auburn in 1935, Bob graduated from St. Dominic High School in 1953. He played basketball throughout his youth and was a lifelong Celtics fan. On his 18th birthday, he met Dorothy “Dot” Lapointe, a 1955 graduate of Lewiston High School. They married in 1956 and shared nearly 70 wonderful years together.
Bob and Dot owned and operated Robert’s Card Center on Sabattus Street and Campus Avenue during the 1960’s and 1970’s, one of the city’s first businesses open 365 days a year. In the early 1980’s, they relocated to South Florida, where they enjoyed nearly three decades of success in real estate before retiring.
He will be remembered for his kindness, warm spirit, genuine care for others, dedication to his customers, and a sense of humor that put everyone at ease. Above all, Bob was a devoted husband to Dot, the love of his life.
He was predeceased by his sister, Therese Frechette; his brother, Adelard; and his son-in-law, Mark Ozawa. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Linda Ozawa of Colorado and Brian of Quebec; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
Bob’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, a testament to a life filled with love, laughter, and generosity.
