Lorraine Ouellette

AUBURN – Lorraine Ouellette, born Sept. 10, 1932, in Lewiston, to Cyrille and Reinelde Laplante, passed away at the age of 93 surrounded by her loving family.

A devoted Catholic, Lorraine’s faith was the foundation of her life. She served as a eucharistic minister, lent her voice to the Holy Cross Church choir, and expressed her devotion to the Virgin Mary by coordinating pilgrimages to Cap-de-la-Madeleine for 34 years.

Lorraine was celebrated throughout her community for her vibrant accordion music, reflecting her proud French-Canadian heritage. She managed and performed with several bands for over 60 years, bringing joy to local festivals and nursing homes, and brightening lives with her artistry and compassion.

Lorraine is survived by her sisters Simonne Paul and Carmel Laplante; her children and their spouses, Louise and Brian Devlin, Jerry and Pat Ouellette, Claire and Robert Tardif, Ann Lopresti, David Ouellette, Jim and Carol Ouellette, daughters-in-law, Donna and Hollie. Lorraine was blessed to have many wonderful nieces and nephews; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

In loving memory, Lorraine was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Robert; her son, Richard; grandson, Derek and grandson, Craig Paradis.

Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, located at 253 Pine St. in Lewiston, will hold a viewing for Lorraine from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Holy Family Church in Lewiston at 11 a.m. on Oct. 7.
