DEAR SUN SPOTS: Holy Family Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a public spaghetti supper to raise funds for this year’s Coats for Kids project at the Holy Family Church hall at 607 Sabattus St. in Lewiston, on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 4-6 p.m.
In the past 10 years, we have given away over a thousand new coats. Please help us continue to make this possible. The cost of the meal is $10 for adults and kids to age 10 are free. Take-out will be available. Sauce is $8 and meat balls are $1 each. — Robert, Lewiston

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Poland Historical Society will host an open house in celebration of its 30 anniversary at its location in the Poland Corner Schoolhouse at 1231 Maine St. on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The museum will be open and there will be artisans demonstrating old-time skills. Light refreshments will also be available.
We will have a special exhibit of vintage items from our collection and are looking for other items related to Poland or to days gone by to display.
If you have any farm tools, toys, household items, holiday decorations, or other items you would like us to show that day, we would be most grateful. Items can be dropped off at the schoolhouse on Friday, Oct. 17, from 5-7:30 p.m., or they can be dropped off on the morning of the open house after 7:30 a.m. Your name and a description of your item can be displayed as well.

ANSWER: Yes, cemeteries need to be tended to and many of them are cared for by willing volunteers. Consider looking into who cares for the cemeteries in your towns and see what you can do to help.
