Xavier Lamppa’s goal in the seventh round of a shootout gave the Maine Mariners a 2-1 win over the Adirondack Thunder in an ECHL game Friday night at Glens Falls, New York.
Mariners goalie Luke Cavallin stopped 27 shots in regulation and overtime and then was nearly perfect in the shootout, allowing only a goal by Brannon McManus in the first round. Brooklyn Kalmikov tied it in the second round, improving to 5 for 5 in his career in shootouts.
McManus put the Thunder ahead midway through the first period. Jacob Perreault tied it 4:51 into the third.
