BRIDGTON – Ivan Proctor Jr., 73, of Bridgton, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025.

He was born on Dec. 18, 1951, to Ivan and Ann Proctor Sr. He grew up in West Paris and attended Pride Training School in South Portland, Hope Training School in Mexico, and The Progress Center in Norway.

He was a Boy Scout and attended Boy Scout camp. While attending The Progress Center, he participated in the Summer and Winter Special Olympics. He enjoyed visits to Penley’s Mill and local village stores in West Paris. Ivan had a great interest in trains and maintained an impressive electric train collection, spending hours playing with it alongside his sisters and friends. He would stop whatever he was doing at the sound of a train whistle to watch it pass through West Paris.

Ivan enjoyed spending summers at family camps, camping at Lake Christopher, and visiting the family camp lot in Stratton. He was a happy-go-lucky guy who loved going on rides anywhere you wanted to take him—no questions asked.

Give him a soda and a bag of chips and he was all set. Later in life, road trips required a stop at Dunkin’ Donuts for an iced coffee and a donut.

“Junior” is survived by his brother-in-law, Owen Melville of West Paris, sisters Donita St. John of South Paris and Dorene Merrill and her husband Ray of Waterford; nieces Shelley, Michelle, and Elizabeth and nephews Dennis, Benjamin, and Jason.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ivan and Ann; sister, Donna and brotherin-law, Jim.
Many thanks to his group home family, his doctors and nurses, and Andwell Hospice for their excellent and loving care and support.

Services will be announced in 2026. Arrangements are in the care of Cliff Gray Cremation & Funeral Services. Condolences and tributes may be shared with Junior’s family and friends at www. hallfuneralhome.net.
