Roger L. Knox

PERU – Roger L. Knox, “Bumpy”, was Born Jan. 23, 1937, in Peru, passed away peacefully in his lifelong home on, Nov. 21, 2025, with his significant other Linda and granddaughter Courtney by his side.

Roger lived a full life after graduating from eighth grade he went to work at Stowell MacGregor Mill. He owned his own wood truck and hauled wood for many years. After he retired from hauling wood he plowed many driveways every winter through the local towns.

He also would buy and sell antique cars to his friend Tom in Europe. He also would drive dump trucks for Knox Loam and Gravel.

Roger’s many hobbies include taking his many different antique cars over the years to car shows across Maine and New Hampshire. Winning 1st place with his 1965 Blue Buick Riviera, many times. Roger loved to sit on his porch, watch the cars go by and visit with family, especially his favorite girl’s granddaughter Courtney and great granddaughter Charley. He always looked forward to their weekly visit. He enjoyed dancing at the VFW with Linda on Friday nights and that most evenings they’d play a game of Skipbo.

He is survived by his significant other Linda Landis of 14 years, his sons, Brian Knox and wife Amy of Peru, Larry Knox of Livermore, ex wife and close friend Susan Arsenault of Canton; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Merle and Gladys Knox, his daughter Betsey Knox, brothers Merle Jr., Elwin, Robert and Richard, grandson Glen Knox, special friend Shirley Cormier.

Family wants to thank Roger’s close friends Danny Noyes, Ricky Cormier and David Merrill for always helping Roger with anything he needed when he called to ask for help. Family also wants to say thank you to each of the Anwell Homecare and Hospice nurses who helped Roger and his family navigate Roger’s final life journey and thank you to Ashley Brown for helping Linda and Courtney with Roger’s care during the last weeks.

There will be graveside services only on Nov. 25, 2025, at 1 p.m., at the East Peru Cemetery with small celebration of life at Brian and Amy Knox’s house at 13 Knox Road, Peru, Maine 04290. Memories may be shared in his Book of Memoires at http://www.wilesrc.com.
