We had lots of correct answers for last week’s Mystery Photo of the Munroe Inn Bed and Breakfast at 123 Pleasant St. in Auburn. Several pointed out that the building was built from 1899 to 1900 and designed by William R. Miller. It is an example of Queen Anne architecture and built for Horace and Maria Monroe, a prominent local family involved in shoe manufacturing. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The inn is owned by Olga Dolgicer, who has painstakingly restored the interior and exterior with the talents of local craftsman Dana Ward. In a random drawing from all the correct entries, Jeannette Tremblay, who lives right around the corner from the inn, was picked as the winner of a $25 Hannaford Supermarket gift card.
