Betty Salatino
RUMFORD – Betty Salatino, 90, died Thursday Nov. 27, 2025, at the Rumford Hospital. She resided on Virgin Street in Rumford.
Betty was born in Rumford on March 22, 1935, the daughter of Oral and Myrna (Rand) Brown. She worked at the Hot Lunch Program for the Virginia School. She enjoyed playing cards, putting puzzles together and knitting.
She was married in Rumford on Oct. 13, 1951, to Frank “Chico” Salatino who died in Farmington on May 27, 2003.
Betty is survived by her daughters Jacqueline Mawhinney and husband Britt of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Teresa Lucy and husband Raymond of Logandale, Nev.; grandchildren, Adam, Brian, and Gina Mawhinney, Nicholas Lucy, Danielle May, Chris Salatino and Beth Gallant; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Joseph; sisters Maxine Gilbert and Phyllis Chiasson, a brother, Malcom Rand; and a nephew, Michael Chiasson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday Dec. 4, at the Parish of The Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford. Interment in the spring will be in St John Cemetery in Rumford. Friends are invited to call at the Meader & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday Dec. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m.
