The Maine Mariners added two forwards to their roster on Friday in advance of a weekend series against Adirondack.
The Mariners signed Mitchel Deelstra to an ECHL contract, while Shawn Element is back with Maine after playing five games with the AHL Providence Bruins.
Deelstra, a 26-year-old rookie from Wallace, Ontario, has 15 games of ECHL experience. He played nine games for Reading last season after finishing his college career at Robert Morris University. This season, he played six games for the South Carolina Stingrays.
Element, 25, signed with the Mariners in the offseason and played in six games before being called up to Providence. For Maine, he had a goal and four assists.
Also Friday, the Mariners activated forward Zach Bannister from a team suspension.
