Deborah Nelson

LISBON FALLS – Deborah Nelson, 73, was reunited with her husband, Harold and her pets on December 1, 2025. Deb was born in Doylestown, Pa., and spent her childhood on the family farm. She graduated from Council Rock High School in Pennsylvania in 1970. She married Harold Nelson on July 4, 1970 when she became a proud military wife. She worked as a federal employee for 30 years, Mario’s restaurant and Graziano’s restaurant for 10 years, Deb resided in Lisbon Falls and Greene.

Deb was known for her positivity, compassion, and sense of humor. After her retirement she volunteered as a hospice visitor and Senior Plus Dining Site Volunteer for the last 12 years. Deb was a devoted animal advocate and rescued many dogs and cats. She also enjoyed shopping at thrift and clock stores and showing her treasures to all.

During the last two years, she went on an Alaskan cruise and a trip to France. Her favorite moments were the dog sledding In Alaska and seeing the Mona Lisa in France.

Deborah is survived by sister Ruth Ann Moore of Pennsylvania, brother John Melsky of Pennsylvania. late brother Stephen Melsky and sister Pat Melsky, many nieces and nephews of Pennsylvania, Eric Benziger (Tammy) and family of Wales. Linda Viles (Buster) of Greene and Gail Graham of Lewiston.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Polkinghorn and staff (Harold Alfond Cancer Center), Andwell Home Health staff and Andwell Hospice House for their supportive and compassionate care.

There will be a visitation on December 27, 2025 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at Funeral Alternatives on 25 Tampa St Lewiston, ME 04240.
