We had a ton of correct answers for last week’s Mystery Photo of the Willys Jeep located in Veterans Memorial Park along the Androscoggin River off Main Street in Lewiston. A Willys Jeep refers to the iconic 4×4 utility vehicles made by Willys-Overland during and after World War II. It started with the famous MB model that became essential to the Allied forces, evolving into civilian versions (CJ series) for farmers and inspiring modern-day Jeeps seen on roads today. In a random drawing from all the correct entries, Nicolle Cote-Bell of Auburn was picked as the winner of a $25 Hannaford Supermarket gift card.
