The debacle of the illegal second strike on the survivors of the alleged Venezuelan drug boat is the latest evidence that the incompetent and criminal Trump administration has got to go.

Our Maine Congress members have passively stood by for 10 months while Donald Trump and his cabinet of misfits have repeatedly violated the Constitution. They turn a blind eye as Trump and his puppet Justice Department and his Gestapo ICE thugs flagrantly break the law. They sit on their hands as Trump enacts insane economic policies that make the rich richer while punishing struggling, hard-working Mainers.

It’s clear. By not standing up to Donald Trump, our members of Congress have failed to do the job we elected them to do.

Yes, it’s late, but it’s still not too late to do the right thing. Now is the time for Sens. King and Collins, and Reps. Pingree and Golden, to take the gloves off, to stand up to Donald Trump and to hold him and his administration to account for the mess they’ve made. But if they can’t do that… well then, it’s time for them to step aside.

In the Army we had a saying: “Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way.” So which will it be?
