LEWISTON — A firefighter was injured Thursday morning battling a blaze at a mobile home park on Russell Street.

The occupant of the double-wide home at 7 Russell St. was able to flee safely from the burning building.

Fire crews were called to the area shortly after 11 a.m. where they encountered flames and heavy smoke.

The injured firefighter was taken by ambulance to a hospital with what were later described as minor injuries.

Fire crews kept the flames away from nearby homes.

The home was considered a total loss.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation later Thursday.

The home sits in a park on a stretch of Russell Street where it meets Main Street.
